At the heart of every successful organization lies its people. Recognizing the importance of maintaining the health and well-being of its employees and leadership, the Philippine Public School Teachers Association (PPSTA) recently held its Annual Physical Examination (APE) for all employees and members of the Board of Trustees.
The APE, held at PPSTA Auditorium, is part of PPSTA’s ongoing commitment to fostering a culture of health and wellness within the organization. Understanding that their employees and trustees are the driving force behind PPSTA’s mission of supporting public school teachers, the association ensures that they receive the care and attention they deserve.
The comprehensive physical examination included a series of tests such as blood work, urinalysis, chest X-ray, and body mass index (BMI) measurement. Additional screenings like eye check-ups, ECG, and consultations with medical professionals were also part of the program. These tests are designed to identify any underlying health issues and encourage proactive care.
According to PPSTA’s President, Dr. Gilbert T. Sadsad, “The annual physical examination is more than just a requirement. It’s a statement of our commitment to ensuring that our people are in the best shape to continue serving the teachers of the Philippines. Healthy employees and trustees mean a stronger, more efficient organization.”
The Board of Trustees also expressed their appreciation for the initiative. [Insert name of Board member] emphasized, “It’s crucial for leaders to lead by example. By undergoing these exams, we show our employees that health and wellness are a top priority, not just for them but for everyone in the organization.”
This year’s APE program also emphasized mental health awareness, offering consultations with psychologists and wellness coaches. Employees and trustees were encouraged to openly discuss mental health concerns, an area that has gained increasing attention in recent years.
By ensuring the overall health and wellness of its team, PPSTA strengthens its ability to fulfill its purpose: to serve, protect, and empower public school teachers across the nation.
As the day wrapped up, employees left with a renewed sense of care and appreciation from the organization. With the APE now complete, the team at PPSTA is re-energized and better equipped to carry on their invaluable work in supporting the country’s educators.
PPSTA: Committed to Health, Committed to Service.
